Mars Russia (a branch of the world famous manufacturer of confectionery products) has completed the merger of OOO “Wrigley”, located on Pulkovskoye highway in St. Petersburg. The merger became possible after the purchase of a minority stake in Wrigley from Berkshire Hathaway of Warren Buffett, as per press service of the company.

It should be noted that both companies have been working on the accession process for a year and a half. Moreover, Mars Incorporated and Wrigley have been operating as a single company for more than 10 years, although from a legal point of view, until recently the businesses operated separately. After the official registration of the transaction in the Russian market single entity “Mars Wrigley Confectionery” was created, which included the division of Mars Chocolate and Wrigley. All the formalities related to the accession are planned to be completed by the end of this year.

The combined portfolio of the segment includes such brands as Snickers, M&M’s, Orbit, Skittles, Juicy Fruit and others, as well as the Russian brand “Korkunov”. Currently, all segments of the business function as a single business.
